Notice to our valued Hot Spot Studio customers regarding the C19 Surcharge:
We are a small business, not a large corporation. We are proud to have survived the pandemic however, due to the fallout of the pandemic and the resulting inflation, exploding costs of ocean freight, gasoline prices, increased product costs, staffing costs, deferred rent and PPP and Eidl loans we are still paying back, this year we find it necessary to apply a 2.95% surcharge** on project purchases until further notice. You will see this as a line item on the bottom portion of your receipt that says “3.5% C19 Surcharge” and the amount.

**The good news is that only 4% sales tax is charged per project. Why? Because most of your purchase is for studio time/supplies/glazing/firing/bagging/storing etc, which is non-taxable.  So in reality you are still paying less in total taxes as you would at other retail operations.
